SIL - Guidelines | Student Activity Center

Evaluation parameters for SIL activities:

Here is a mechanism to evaluate students on their social outreach activities:

Overall, this evaluation mechanism takes a holistic approach to evaluating a student's social outreach activity, focusing not only on the project itself but also on the student's personal and professional development. By doing so, it can help to encourage students to engage in meaningful social outreach activities that have a positive impact on their communities and contribute to their overall growth and development.

Points System for Extension & Social Outreach activities:

A student can take up a maximum of two roles for each activity (s)he participates, each role has maximum points and a rating system that will determine the total points scored by the student in an activity.

Detention, Fail & Supplementary Policy in SIL:

Scoring 0 points in all categories of SIL will lead to detention and student must follow the detained course registration policy to re-register into the course by paying additional fee and complete the course in another semester. This may lead to cancellation of distinction and honors degrees as per the academic regulation.

Scoring less than 40 points in any of the five categories of SIL will lead to an F grade in the course. Student must work on additional activities in the next semester which will then get added to the existing events recorded in ERP thus allowing student to obtain at least P grade. However, this process may incur the student an additional fee to process this result as supplementary. The supplementary result will reflect in the grade sheets and consolidated marks memorandum along with the new result by clearly showing the history of failure. This may also put the student at risk of losing distinction as per the academic regulations.
